American writer Naomi Wolf lays out a nightmarish scenario of America succombing to fascism in 10 easy steps, in the Guardian, here. I know it's alarmist and impossible. We have no secret prisons, do we? Oh wait, yeah, I guess we do. We don't torture political prisoners... okay, we do that too. Well, we don't spy on our own population! Wait, strike that, we do have warrantless wiretaps, damn it. I know we'd never have our legitimate civilian protest groups infiltrated and targeted... shit. Forget it. Maybe Ms. Wolf has a point...
