WORLD CUP 2006!

Germany 4 Costa Rica 2
Ecuador 2 Poland 0

The first day of the World Cup 2006 produced some stunning goals and 2 exciting matches. The hosts started things off by beating Costa Rica 4-2, with a brace coming from Miroslav Klose. Costa Rica's Paolo Wanchope also scored a brace, easily sliding his shots past the gap-toothed afro'd joker Jens Lehmann. The second match today saw Ecuador stuff Poland 2-0.

More action follows tomorrow.

BAT OUT OF HELL III: THE LAWSUIT

The Mighty Man of Wagnerian pop operatic rock, Meat Loaf, is suing his partner and co-creator Jim Steinman over the rights to use the phrase "Bat Out Of Hell." Steinman is the brilliant songwriter but without Meat singing those songs, they would've remained just words on a page, and Steinman could never have gone on to work with Sisters Of Mercy, as well as the more lucrative Barbra Streisand and Bonny Tyler. They needed each other.

Meat Loaf's music (and Steinman's songs) were brilliant examples of a high-concept, high-flyin', hilarious and bold musical style that has not been seen since. Meat Loaf sold 48 million records worldwide (and 2 copies to me).

"Ill never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
Im praying for the end of time
Its all that I can do
Praying for the end of time, so I can end my time
With you!!!
"

WELCOME TO 6-6-(0)6

First of all, we here at the Bunker don't believe in the 666 tomfoolery. It's a nice ghost story to scare the kiddies. Second, we can still imagine that we're going to be hearing about the babies born today well into the future: "an update on the 666 kids, next, after the Weather!"

Did you know that the Book of Revelation almost was not included in the Bible at all? Not only is the Book of Revelation of dubious worth, and its authorship in question, (Revelation is attributed to the wild visions of "John of Patmos" who is not St. John the Baptist or John the Evangelist, although they are oft con-fused), it has been hotly contested for about 1500 years.

From Wikipedia:
Protestant founder Martin Luther considered Revelation to be "neither apostolic nor prophetic" and stated that "Christ is neither taught nor known in it."

and:

In the 4th century, St. John Chrysostom and other bishops argued against including this book in the New Testament canon, chiefly because of the difficulties of interpreting it and the danger for abuse. Christians in Syria also reject it because of the Montanists' heavy reliance on it. In the 9th century, it was included with the Apocalypse of Peter among "disputed" books in the Stichometry of St. Nicephorus, Patriarch of Constantinople. In the end it was included in the accepted canon, although it remains the only book of the New Testament that is not read within the Divine Liturgy of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

And instead of worrying about the anti-Christ or whether the world will end, remember that the world will end today for thousands of people. Not a cheerful thought, perhaps, but it also shows that it's a waste of time worrying about the Beast.
