Murderer Of Doctor And Bodyguard To Be Executed --- An unrepentant Paul Hill will die by lethal injection today in Florida for his shotgun murdering of Dr. John Britton and James Barrett in 1994. Hill audaciously told reporters he is expecting a "huge reward in Heaven" for his murders. He is part of an insane faction that believes violence and murder are acceptable when in the "service of God." Hill and his brethren (he is a former Presbyterian minister and father of 3) believe that providing birth control and in some cases abortions is a crime that merits death. Did Hill petition Congress or try to get a coalition together to change the law he so despises? No, he just decided that he was going to speak for God and go out and murder people. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that people like Hill are sick and their views of God are not to be believed. All the violence and death and murder in the world can be justified by people like Hill, who is no different from Osama bin Laden and any other "religious" person who can't tolerate dissent.

However, we don't condone capital punishment. Only nations as repressive as Iran and Pakistan and Saudi Arabia routinely execute people, and those are not exactly countries we should be palling around with. We don't feel that the State has the right to take a life, especially given the high number of people exonerated by DNA evidence. Soapbox!
Johnny Depp --- Johnny called the US under George Bush a "dumb puppy with teeth," read it here. It's gutsy for an actor to criticize the Administration in a time like this when anyone not toeing the line is branded a traitor and un-American. If everyone were speaking out, like Mr. Depp, maybe some of the wild US cowboy diplomacy would be reigned in.

Site Down --- Something happened to the host server on Friday and now the site is completely goofy. To correct the problem we have made contract with another server and will be migrating the site over to it this coming week. The inconvenience is definitely acutely felt on our end, too. Thanks for sticking with us.
